Leonardo Bruno has traveled the world using magic as a means to stimulate people’s imagination and senses. He believes that magic can influence people regardless of their age, language or culture.
He loves the direct contact with people because there is reciprocity of feelings. “The magic is felt and lived in a completely different way. There’s not a window or a barrier between the spectators and me. They feel my magic and I feel their magic too”.
“It is that emotional link that binds people to tell stories, to revive the past, to believe in the impossible, to imagine the future, to marvel at the simpleness of life or to let the child out that all adults have inside. If I had to define my professional career, I would say, I am a story teller that uses magic to describe special moments, and music to guide ones emotions”.
Leonardo Bruno sees magic as a theatrical spectacle that aims to connect with the emotions of the spectators through common experiences. “It’s a choreography that illustrates stories that the audience can relate with, without loosing the sense of wonder”
He is passionate about magic with small objects as well as great illusions. “I don’t want to pigeonhole myself as a manipulator, a mentalist or an escapist, I want to experience all the branches of magic, and use them to connect with spectators. I love to amuse people and make them feel like children again”.
Kevin James’ Operation, had only been executed by himself up until 2015. Due to the demand in The Illusionists, the American magician decided to put it in the hands of his son Leonardo Bruno, who possesses the talent, charisma and port to present it as it was created.
“It is an honor for me to possess the rights to execute this spectacular effect and it fits very well with my style because it has a story that allows me to connect with people”. There is a rise and fall of emotions that remain recorded forever in the spectators’ memories.
